Longer lengths of photographic film can be accommodated in a pack by using protective backing strip of 60 micron thickness consisting of metallic foil support with the side towards the film blackened e.g. by polyethylene, polyamide or polypropylene and numerals and the markings are printed on a plastic sheet to prevent accidental transfer of such markings on to the film. The metal foil is pref aluminium zinc or tin.
