摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic recording medium such as an audio and video tape etc., and particularly a magnetic recording medium having excellent electromagnetic converting characteristic, running characteristic and durability. CONSTITUTION:The surface treatment of silicon compound, aluminium compound and zirconium compound is executed to the magnetic powder of iron carbide of 45 to 70m<2>/g by the BET method. Thereby, adsorption of lubricant at the surface of magnetic powder can be controlled so that excellent running characteristic can be obtained and coating strength can also be improved with only a small amount of lubricant.
