Suitable extracts may be obtained from the barks of Poterium spinosum, Schinopsis lorentzii, Acacia mollissima, Uncaria gambar and Rhus coriar by (a) extraction with water or methanol and (b) gel filtration or precipitation with a mixture of acetone and diethyl ether. The extract may be combined with a cardiotonic agent, sedative or tranquillizer and made up for internal administration.
