A method and apparatus for treating respiratory disease is disclosed. An aerosol generator provides an initial aerosol having an initial oxygen concentration and humidity. Adaptor means are provided to introduce additional oxygen to the aerosol to increase the oxygen concentration so as to provide the specific oxygen concentration required by the patient.
