PURPOSE:To make the physical property of an ink uniform by always stirring supplied solvent and settled pigment by a method wherein a small volume of overflow container is provided on the upper part of an ink retaining container and a circulation of the ink is produced from the bottom part of the ink retaining container through the overflow container back into the ink retaining container. CONSTITUTION:The ink in an ink retaining container 1 is supplied to a recording nozzle 21 through a solenoid valve 15, a pressure pump 16, a filter 17, a pressure adjusting valve 18, a pressure gage 19 and a solenoid valve 20 arranged in that order. An ink supply container 19 is provided between the ink retaining container 1 and the solenoid valve 15. An ink circulating system is actuated to send only the ink physically adjusted in the ink retaining container 1 to the ink supply container 39. The lowest liquid level is detected by a liquid surface level detector 40 and acts as a trigger to initiate the physical adjustment of the ink in the ink retaining container 1. |
