<p>PURPOSE: To obtain the recording and reproducing device capable of attaining high speed responsiveness of a changeover of modes without necessitating complicated servo technology. CONSTITUTION: The mode changeovers are composed of two positions of an FWD mode and an FWD pause mode in the FWD direction and one position of an RVS mode including an RVS pause in the RVS direction, totaling three positions. Then, the FWD pause mode and the RVS mode are operated to make the braking state of a capstan motor respectively, and the FWD mode is operated to make the unbraking state of the capstan motor.</p> |
