A switching cubicle has a housing with a door and inside are conductors for feeding in the mains voltage, for current-carrying busbars and for apparatus holders. The current-carrying busbars (1) and the apparatus holders 92) are located in at least two planes (3,4), the planes being spaced apart by distance brackets (5,6). The busbars are located vertically and the conductors for feeding in the mains voltage are horizontal, as are the power output leads (8) to the individual apparatuses (9 to 11). The distance brackets for forming the second plane are U-shaped or rectangular and are connected with one leg (12) or side (13) to holding rails (14) fastened to the housing rear wall.
