PURPOSE:To provide a clutch simple in structure and capable of coping with both smooth and sudden speed change in the case of being integrated into a speed change gear while obtaining sufficient torque capacity. CONSTITUTION:Plural sprags 4 are interposed between a clutch inner wheel and a clutch outer wheel 3 fitted with play in the mutually rotatable state, and a sleeve 5 for tilting these sprags 4 is fitted to the outer periphery of the clutch inner wheel 2. The clutch inner wheel 2 is provided with axial grooves 11 in plural circumferential places of the outer diameter face, and the respective sprags 4 are oscillatingly fitted into these axial grooves 11. The tip of each sprag 4 comes in contact with the inner diameter face of the clutch outer wheel 3 in the erected state of the sprag 4. The sleeve 5 is provided with comb like claws 15, and each claw 15 is thrusted in between a pair of sprags 4, 4 in association with axial movement. Lock and lock release between both clutch wheels 2, 3 are performed by the axial movement of the sleeve 5. |
