PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a band plate of a magnesium alloy subjected to a coating finish suitable to forming, and to provide a method for efficiently producing the band plate at a low cost. SOLUTION: In the coated band plate of a magnesium alloy, the surface of a band plate of a magnesium alloy is provided with a pretreatment film for coating and a resin coating film applied on the coating film. The coating film for pretreatment of coating is one or two kinds of a chromium oxide film and a phosphate film. The production method of the band plate is also provided.
