An automatic address notification device is provided to enable an emergency management agency to grasp the telephone use position of an Internet phone user up to the level of a PSTN(Public Switched Telephone Network), thus the agency can perceive the user's position in an emergency. An IP(Internet Protocol) address checker(302) checks IP addresses of Internet phone users. A memory unit(303) distinguishes IP addresses of Internet phones(1) from use place addresses of communication lines to store the distinguished addresses. An IP address receiver(304) copes with an Internet phone address checking request. An address transmitter(305) searches a communication line address corresponding to a requested IP address, and transmits address data. If it is decided that an Internet phone user connects with an emergency telephone number and if a telephone office transmits the user's IP address data to the receiver(304) to check the user's use place address, the IP address is received and compared with the IP addresses stored in the memory unit(303) to check the use place address, and the checked address is sent to the telephone office or an MSC(Mobile Switching Center), so that the address is provided to an emergency management agency. |
