Provided are a multistage absorption apparatus and a method for treating contaminants by using the multistage absorption apparatus, which are capable of more efficiently and continuously treating contaminants without waste of adsorbents. The multistage absorption apparatus comprises: a feed conduit through which gas is supplied; a discharge conduit through which gas is discharged; an adsorption unit which includes at least three adsorption towers, and treats contaminants contained in the gas; a connection part which includes at least one connection conduit adapted to connect the adsorption towers to thus form a passage and a connection control valve adapted to control the passage by selectively opening and closing the connection conduit, and selectively connects at least two of the adsorption towers; a feed control valve which connects any one of the adsorption towers, connected by the connection part, to the feed conduit by selectively opening and closing a portion between the adsorption unit and the feed conduit; and a discharge control valve which connects the other one of the adsorption towers, connected by the connection part, to the discharge pipe by selectively opening and closing a portion between the adsorption unit and the discharge pipe. The gas is sequentially passed through at least two of the adsorption towers. |
