A copolymer of ethylene and a vinyl ester, said copolymer having a K value above 65, is prepared by suspension polymerization in the presence of a free radical catalyst, the process comprising adding at least part of the vinyl ester during the course of the reaction. Other monomers also may be present, e.g. other vinyl esters, acrylic or methacrylic acids or esters, esters of unsaturated dicarboxylic acids, or vinyl sulphonic acid or a salt thereof. Catalyst also may be added during the reaction. |
