<p>An automatic regeneration device for ion exchange units, esp. for water softeners, where brine is introduced into the filter unit to regenerate the bed, comprises a brine dosing chamber which is sub-divided by a bellows into two hermetically separated compartments and also comprises a spring-loaded valve operated by flow pressure. The bellows construction ensures that an exact volume of brine is supplied to the filter bed for regeneration, so that only the initiation of regeneration needs to be commanded by the control circuit. The spring-loaded valve, being actuated by water pressure, is pref. entirely enclosed in the water softener housing.</p> |
