PURPOSE:To obtain the subject deposit material consisting of a porous zicronia sistered compact, excellent in thermal shock resistance at elevated temperatures. CONSTITUTION:This material for heat-resistant coating deposit consists of a high-purity porous zirconia sintered compact. This sistered compact can be obtained by the following processes: mixed powder comprising high-purity zicronium oxide <=0.2wt.% in the total content of inevitable impurities except HfO2 and 0.1-10mum in average particle diameter and yttrium oxide and/or cerium oxide is granulated so that granules 45-30mum in diameter account for >=70wt.% of the total granules can be obtained, and then the granules are heat-treated followed by sintering the granules that have 45-30mum in diameter account for >=50wt.% of the whole spherical aggregate powdery granules. This resultant sistered compact is 25-50% in porosity with pores of 0.1-5.0mum in diameter accounting for >=70% of the total pores. The objective deposit material thus obtained has no limitation of its design, has an excellent thermal shock resistance and a high mechanical strength as to be free from any problem in terms of operation, and also develops no cracks. |
