[Also in Division F2] In a rotary offset printing machine comprising four printing units 1, 2, 3, each driven through worm gearing off a common drive shaft 5 the latter shaft comprises two parts 5<SP>1</SP>, 511, each part driving a pair of units. In order to correct any tendency for the units to become out of register due, for instance to heat expansion of the two parts of the shaft 5, the parts are joined by a helically toothed coupling member 12 which is so designed that should the parts move axially through the coupling they will automatically be rotated relative to each other. |
