摘要 A method for maximizing aerial directive gain while simultaneously placing nulls (suppressing side lobes) in the far-field radiation pattern of the array. The expressions of the standard antenna gain equation that define the side lobes to be eliminated are equated to zero and solved for current phase and amplitude values. A new set of current values for the standard directive gain equation are derived through a transform operator that includes the derived phase and amplitude values. Techniques substantially identical are used to maximize a standard gain equation utilizing the new set of current values. The current phase and amplitude values derived from the maximization step are used to feed the antenna.
