PURPOSE:To obtain an emetocathartic composition having enhanced antidiarrhea action, reducing a dose, having a little side effects by blending loperamide hydrochloride with >=a fixed amount of a saccharide. CONSTITUTION:Loperamide hydrochloride is blended with >=3,000 times as much saccharide (e.g. white sugar). The concentration of loperamide hydrochloride in a composition is preferably 0.001-0.02wt%. The blend is properly mixed with a generally usable excipient, lubricant, binder, aroma, coloring agent, pH adjuster to give the objective substance. The objective substance is preferably made into a dosage form such as syrup or dry syrup. By blending loperamide hydrochloride with >=3,000 times as much as the saccharide by weight, anti-diarrhea action is obtained with about 1/3 ordinary dose of loperamide hydrochloride.
