PURPOSE:To obtain an antibody capable of specifically reacting with c-erbB-2- related protein and useful for the diagnosis and treatment of adenocarcinoma, especially mammary cancer. CONSTITUTION:This process for the production of monoclonal antibody against a proliferation factor receptor is to use a solubilized human cancer cell as an immunogen. This invention also relates to an anti-c-erbB-2 monoclonal antibody specifically reacting with c-erbB-2-related protein produced by a hybridoma formed by the fusion of an immunocyte of a mammal immunized with human mammary cancer cell strain SK-BR-3 with a marrow cell of a mammal and an antitumor agent and cancer diagnostic agent containing the antibody as an essential component.
