PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a radio reception system that quickly corrects fluctuation in a carrier frequency so as to attain burst communication. SOLUTION: A multiplier 2 multiplies a local oscillation signal generated from a local oscillator 3 with a radio wave signal from an antenna 1 to convert the frequency of the radio wave signal into an intermediate frequency, and the signal with the intermediate frequency is demodulated to obtain a received output signal S2. The receiver is provided with an intermediate frequency signal selection means 10 that selects a specific frequency band of the intermediate frequency signal at which the demodulated signal level is a maximum. Thus, the radio receiver selects the frequency band of the intermediate frequency signal at which the level of the output signal S2 is a maximum and receives the radio wave signal.
