NUMERICAL CONTROL DATA PREPARING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speedily and easily prepare the numerical control(NC) data of works having various three-dimensional(3D) forms. SOLUTION: Surface information containing the expression formula of a surface expressing the form of the work and the expression formula of the contour of the surface is fetched from 3D CAD data concerning the work. The individual fetched expression formulas of the contours of surfaces are mutually compared and when both formulas are coincident, junction relation information showing the junction of two surfaces as a rigid line is prepared. The junction relation information is collated with the previously registered junction relation information of the surface of a standard model in a working form and when both the information are coincident, the surface is set as a working part. From a previously registered working information preparation procedure and a working information parameter set for each standard model of the working form, the working information of the set working part is prepared. Therefore, the NC data of works having various 3D forms can be speedily and easily prepared while using the 3D CAD data of the work.
