PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a resin composition for electric insulation capable of keeping initial characteristics such as curing properties even after long-term storage and carrying out electric insulation treatment at a definite low temperature and in a short time when a metallic acid salt is used as a curing accelerator for improving a curing property of an unsaturated polyester resin excellent in economical efficiency. SOLUTION: The resin composition for insulation treatment of electrical equipment comprises (A) 10-90 pts. wt. unsaturated polyester having≤40 acid value and obtained by reacting a dicyclopentadienyl monomaleate with an unsaturated dibasic acid, a saturated dibasic acid and an alcohol component, (B) 10-90 pts. wt. crosslinkable monomer, (C) 0.01-5.0 pts. wt. organic acid salt of cobalt, (D) 0.001-1.0 pt. wt. alkylammonium salt and (E) 0.1-5.0 pts. wt. organic peroxide.
