The coupling (10) for door or window shutters has a suspension hook (12), a shaft (46) and a head (16). The hook engages an eye (22) mounted on the door or window frame. The other end of the coupling has the releasable head to engage a second holder attached to the shutter. A part of the haft can be formed of a strong hardened coil spring (14).
