<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plasma display and a method of driving the same that are adaptive to a view environment and can achieve excellent contrast characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: The plasma display includes an outside luminance detection part 31 for detecting an outside luminance of a plasma display panel, a setup pulse control part 32 for controlling the magnitude of the highest voltage of a setup pulse supplied during a reset period in response to a detection signal supplied by the outside luminance detection part 31, and a scan drive part 34 for supplying a scan electrode with the setup pulse, whose magnitude of the highest voltage is controlled in response to a control signal supplied by the setup pulse control part 32 during the reset period. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
