PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent speech paths from being utilized disproportionately by securing the speech paths for respective areas and for respective nursing teams without letting the plurality of speech paths be occupied by a specified area or a specified nursing team in a nurse call device. SOLUTION: A nurse call controller holds a speech path management table for determining the speech path to be utilized for a call request from a nurse call slave unit and a nurse call master unit or a portable terminal carried by a nurse in a storage part, recognizes the kind of a call and a patient who made the call from call information when there is the call, and selects the speech path matched with the condition of utilizing the speech path preset in the speech path management table on the basis of the information.
