PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To excellently prevent the deterioration in exhaust emission and the deterioration in a catalyst caused by blow-by of intake air, in speed reduction from an existing state of a valve overlap period, in an internal combustion engine with a supercharger capable of adjusting the valve overlap period, in a control device of the internal combustion engine with the supercharger. SOLUTION: This control device has a turbocharger 20, and has variable valve trains 70 and 72 capable of adjusting the valve overlap period. When reducing a valve overlap quantity in the speed reduction from a supercharging state, when a signal of an oxygen sensor 64 arranged on the downstream side of an upstream catalyst 58 indicates rich output, after controlling an intake VVT advance quantity up to reaching its target value, an exhaust VVT delay quantity is controlled up to reaching its target value. While, when the signal of the oxygen sensor 64 indicates lean output, after controlling the exhaust VVT delay quantity up to reaching its target value, the intake VVT advance quantity is controlled up to reaching its target value.
