Provided is a reception device configured to receive a broadcast signal onwhich emergency alert information is superimposed and send out an alertproperly. The reception device is configured to include a tuner that tunes andreceives a broadcast signal, a demodulator that demodulates a physical layerlevel of the broadcast signal, and an alert device that sends out an alert ofaudio, text display, or the like according to the emergency alert informationsuperimposed on the physical layer of the broadcast signal. Since an activationtime is short with a simple configuration, an alert is sent out immediatelyeven from a standby state when the emergency alert information is detected. Also,power consumption is small. Thus, even when all of the reception devices in anarea where an emergency alert is sent out are concurrently activated, power tobe supplied is not short. |
