PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projection-type image display device capable of optimizing a color reproduction range by improving color purity of green component light.SOLUTION: The projection-type image display device includes: a laser beam source that outputs a beam of blue light; a wheel having a reflection plane formed on a base plate which is provided with an illuminant which emits emission light being irradiated with the blue light; a band-pass filter which is disposed on an optical path on which the light emitted from the illuminant propagates; plural light modulation elements for modulating the blue light and the light emitted from the illuminant; and a projection unit that projects the light modulated by the plural light modulation elements. The band-pass filter allows a part of the light in a wavelength band of 560 to 590 nm in the emitted light from the illuminant to transmit and reflects the light out of the wavelength band.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
