CHROMAN COMPOUND AND METHOD FOR PREPARING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substance or a compound which is more stable than daedalin A and has actions such as skin-whitening action, antioxidation action and active-oxygen scavenging action, and to provide an efficient method of carrying out the organic synthesis of daedalin A or a compound according to the present invention.

SOLUTION: The first problem as described above has been solved by the finding that a compound prepared by hydrogenating double bonds disposed on 3-position and 4-position of daedalin A is useful as an effective component of a skin-whitening agent, an antioxidation agent or the like, with its unexpectedly better stability and functionality than those of daedalin A. The second problem as described above has been solved by improving the method of synthesizing daedalin A.
