1284401 Automatic record changer PLESSEY CO Ltd 14 July, 1969 [12 July 1968] 33507/68 Heading G5R In a gramophone with a normal velocity trip means which operates to initiate an automatic record change when a pick-up enters the record run-off groove at a radius of approximately 2¢ inches, the trip means is made adjustable to allow playing of records of 3# inch diameter. In normal use when the pick-up is about to enter the run-out groove, pin 12 on lever 11, which pivots with the pick-up arm, engages the end of arm 8 and, as the pick-up enters the groove, moves the tip 7a of pawl 7 into contact with abutment 4a whereby the cam wheel 5 is moved into mesh with pinion 4 and the autochange sequence commences. The arm 8 is formed with a notched portion 30 which by operation of control 33 can be moved into a position to be contacted by pin 12 thus allowing the pick-up to move much nearer the centre of the turntable before tripping the change mechanism. |
