1,268,497. Unwinding bobbins. PLASTREX-MANURHIN. 3 July, 1969 [23 July, 1968], No. 33662/69. Heading D1J. Paying out of filament 16 from a bobbin 1 in a creel is controlled by a pivoted lever 18 (Fig. 4) which pivots about axis 21 in response to changes in tension, pulling a cable 19, attached to a fixed point by a spring 25 (Fig. 2), and bearing a stop 30 which, through a spring 29, applies a corresponding pressure to a second lever 20, pivoted at 28. Clockwise motion of lever 20 presses a driven belt 6 into greater frictional engagement with a grooved pulley 10 borne by the bobbin 1, by means of a wheel 32, thus increasing the bobbin speed when tension increases. On a decrease in tension, the bobbin is slowed by a brake block 33, also borne by lever 20. To damp oscillatory changes in unwinding speed, a brake block 34 pivoted to lever 20 is pressed against cable 19 by a weight 36. (For Figures see next page) |
