<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for separating magnetic particle from composition of matter. <P>SOLUTION: In this means, a lengthened protective cover (1) which contains a recessed portion (2) extending from upper limit toward lower limit, and this recessed portion is equipped with a movable magnetic rod of which the length-thickness ratio is at least about 2:1. This separating equipment may be used for various applications, especially such fields as biotechnology, biochemistry and biomedicine.
