<p>The water is sprayed from a nozzle at the apex of a conical degassing dome with an apex angle of 50-70 degrees, at one end of a horizontal vessel and onto a perforated plate in the top wall of the vessel. At the same end of the vessel is an outlet port for the degassed water and the other end above the water line is an inlet for steam, the excess steam and the gas liberated from the feed water being extracted through a vent above the dome, the feed pipe to the spray being fitted within this vent channel. Significant increase in extraction efficiency with a relatively cheap plant.</p> |
