<p>1297605 Rapid processing of photographic materials having porous supports FUJI PHOTO FILM CO Ltd 19 April 1971 [27 Jan 1970] 20037/71 Heading G2C An exposed photographic material having a porous support is soaked with a liquid which is volatile and immiscible with water whilst avoiding wetting of the light-sensitive surface with the liquid, treated with at least one aqueous processing solution and the volatile liquid is then evaporated prior to drying the processed material. The liquid may be a hydrocarbon or halogenated hydrocarbon e.g. benzene, methylcyclohexane, cyclohexane, isooctane, ligroin, gasoline, a mixture of isoparaffins having 10-12 carbon atoms or a fluorochlorohydrocarbon. The support alone of the material may be soaked with the liquid or the material may be completely soaked with the liquid followed by removal of the liquid from the lightsensitive surface. The support may be a paper, fabric or other porous material and the lightsensitive layer may be a silver halide or diazo compound.</p> |
