An apparatus is claimed for cutting between the two layers of fabric developed by a double-pile loom, in the manufacture of velvets, imitation fur fabrics, etc. The cutter is in the form of a bandsaw blade. The design ensures a clean cutting of the connecting pile between the two fabric layers, particularly when working with yarns of synthetic fibres and the increasing weft counts experienced.
