<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a writing instrument on which a coating film can be formed, in which a name and decoration can be easily marked on a grip part and a decoration part or the like, the coating film being prevented from separation due to use. <P>SOLUTION: A coating film comprising at least a coloring agent and a chlorinated polyolefin is formed on the outside surface of the writing instrument composed of a styrene-ethylene-butylene-styrene copolymerized resin (SEBS resin). An aliphatic amide and/or a fluorine-containing additive is contained in the coating film. The coating film is formed by a pad printing or a screen printing.
