<p>Before the forming of the flattened sealed edge at the filling end of a tube or similar container which has at the other end a delivery nozzle which can be closed, say with a screwed cap, two near enough diametrically opposite side folds are formed in the tube. These folds or pleats run outwards from the sealed edge, in tubes which are used for the packing of toothpaste, creams, etc., and they reduce the width of the bottom end to that of the remainder of the tube, so that smaller and cheaper boxes can be used for their packaging.</p> |
