<p>PURPOSE: To enhance an interface bond between layers by forming a transparent polymeric laminate by bonding chemically a plasticized polyvinyl butyral sheet and a specific thermosetting polyurethane layer through the intermediary of a urethane group. CONSTITUTION: A thermosetting polyurethane layer is formed by making diisocyanate react with a cross-linkable mixture containing polyether polyol having a primary or secondary hydroxyl of a molecular weight of about 250-8000. A transparent polymeric laminate is formed by bonding chemically a plasticized polyvinyl butyral sheet and the thermosetting polyurethane layer through the intermediary of a urethane group. As for suitable examples of the polyether polyol to be used, polytetramethyl ethylene ether glycol, a glycerol- propylene oxide adduct, a propylene oxide adduct capped with a glycerol- ethylene oxide, etc., are present.</p> |
