PURPOSE:To optimize the setting of a temperature of a record head even when an electric power source is cut by a method wherein detection values of a temperature sensor provided on the record head are estimated based on the inclination of detection values of the temperature sensor taken at least two times by a prescribed interval when loading it or in the similar condition. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet recorder that records on a record medium by ejecting an ink from a record head comprises a temperature-detection means that detects the temperature of the record head, an initial temperature-determination means that obtains an initial temperature of the record head corresponding to a prescribed ambient temperature thereof and a record head temperature-estimation means that estimates the temperature of the record head. From the above constitution, detection values of a temperature sensor provided on the record head are estimated based on the inclination of detection values of the temperature sensor taken at least two times by a prescribed interval when loading it or in the similar condition, thereby estimating the temperature of the head based on the detected values. |
