PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the manufacturing process and reduce the cost. SOLUTION: This device for fixing a toner image on the surface of an image receptor is provided with a fusing roll and a pressing roll 48 locked with the fusing roll. The pressing roll 48 is provided with a core structural body 101, a layer 102 stuck to the core structural body 101, a pair of bearings 106, and a flat shaft 104 stored in the inner rings 108 of the bearings 106. The flat shaft 104 has a rectangular cross section, it requires a cost lower than that of a circular shaft, and it is formed from a flat sheet material by the simple punching technique. |
