<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer recording method by which production cost for forming a thermal transfer layer of a composite thermal transfer sheet is prevented from increasing, moreover the deterioration in durability and glossiness caused by roughened surfaces of transferred receiving layers and protecting layers is prevented, thereby eliminating practical problems, and a composite thermal transfer sheet used for the recording method. <P>SOLUTION: The composite thermal transfer sheet wherein a transferable dye receiving layer and a transferable protecting layer are successively and repeatedly provided in the face order on one surface of a base sheet, and a thermal transfer sheet wherein dye layers for one or more colors are successively and repeatedly provided in face order on one face of the base sheet, are prepared to effect heat transfer the dye receiving layer on a body to be transferred using a line heater head. Then, a thermal head is used to transfer the dye from the heat transfer sheet having the dye layer on the dye receiving layer transferred on the body to be transferred, thereby forming images thereon. Afterward, the line heater head is used to effect heat transfer the transferable protecting layer of the composite thermal transfer sheet on the image where the dye of the body to be transferred is heat transferred, forming a protective layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
