PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an image forming device equipped with a curl removing mechanism of high durability, which is simply constituted and made compact, and capable of appropriately removing the curl of a paper, irrespective of a paper discharging direction, and to obtain the curl removing mechanism for the image forming device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is provided with a fixing device constituted of a heat roller 52 and a pressure roller 54 arranged in a frame 51 as a fixing unit and the curl removing mechanism 55 of high durability arranged just behind the fixing device, and a paper discharging direction switching mechanism 62 with a guiding part 62a where a guiding path is arranged so as to communicate with the fixing unit. The paper P with the fixed image is curved in a reverse direction by the curl removing mechanism 55, then, the curl is removed by the mechanism 55. In the case of discharging the paper P to a printed paper placing part 69, the paper P is formed to a shape suitable to the printed paper placing part 69 by making the paper P with high temperature/humidity follow the shape of the guiding part 62a.
