PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a test plug excellent in working easiness and free of risk to damage threads in a groove formed in a joint provided at the piping outlet or the threaded portion of the test plug. SOLUTION: For inspecting water leakage at a water supply piping installed at a building, etc., a test plug is installed by screwing at a groove in a water cock socket 9 mounted at a piping outlet for choking the piping outlet, wherein a threaded part 3 having a smaller diameter than a cylindrical plug body 2 is provided consolidatedly at the forefront of the plug body 2, and a ring-shaped packing 4 is tightly fitted on the base end part of the threaded part 3, while a cylinder 5 to support the packing 4 is tightly fitted on the peripheral surface of the packing 4.
