PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain reels for tapes having good dimensional stability and excellent sliding characteristics and a tape cassette having these reels for tapes by forming the material of at least the center pins of the reels to be polyamide. SOLUTION: This tape cassette has a part of the reels 22 and 23 which have winding core parts 55 to be wound with the magnetic tape 24, an upper flange 52 and lower flange 54 disposed at both ends of the winding core parts 55 apart a prescribed spacing to each other and the center pins 53 arranged in the central parts at one end of the winding core parts 55. The magnetic tape 24 is wound around both reels 22 and 23 and the reels are freely rotatably supported within a cassette casing 21. The center pins 53 of the respective reels 22 and 23 are pressed by retaining springs 25. The material of at least the center pins 53 is formed of the polyamide.
