PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact lightweight ignition coil unit with an enhanced yield and a reduced thermal stress while improving its output characteristic by determining the orientation in the case of punching out an outer circumferential core. SOLUTION: The ignition coil unit is directly coupled to a plugtop of an internal combustion engine, and used for the internal combustion engine formed with a closed magnetic path by arranging a primary coil wound around a center core, a secondary coil wound coaxially, and the outer circumferential core in a form of inscribing both ends of the center core. The outer circumferential core is formed by laminating a plurality of strip shaped materials of the same size, and folding the laminated materials as a loop. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
