PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance scratch resistance, repulsiveness and ball hitting feeling in a golf ball having a polyurethane cover. SOLUTION: The golf ball has the cover and the cover contains a thermoplastic polyurethane resin containing a polycarbonate polyol as a component as a base resin. The polycarbonate polyol has a repeating unit (A) shown by a formula (I) and a repeating unit (B) shown by a formula (II) with a structure different from the repeating unit (A), wherein R<SP>1</SP>shows a bivalent residue formed by eliminating two hydroxyl groups from a 4-6C diol and R<SP>2</SP>shows a bivalent residue formed by eliminating two hydroxyl groups from a 4-6C diol, and the mole ratio of (A)/(B) is 30/70 to 70/30.
