<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for extracting sea squirt, capable of extracting components useful for improving diabetes mellitus, also useful for the promotion of immune function of a body, mitigating neuralgia, arthralgia and muscular pain and performing a hematogenesis for erythrocytes, and a health food capable of contributing to the improvement of diseases. <P>SOLUTION: The method for extracting the sea squirt is provided by using the fascia body and viscera of the sea squirt as raw materials, removing salt content from them and extracting them by using warm/hot water, or reacting the raw materials with an alcohol. The health food consisting of the liquid sea squirt extract is obtained by extracting the fascia body and viscera of the sea squirt as the raw material.
