The walls of a rectangular carton are extended beyond folds 12a, 15a, 156, to form a continuous skirt which is divided by fold lines 10c lie, 26, 28, 30, 32 into end flaps 21, 22, 23 connected by triangular panels 25, 27, 31 each having an angle of 45 degrees between its defining fold lines, wherein the width of flaps 22 is at most half that of narrow walls 19, whereas flap 21 is wider than flap 23 and has a similar width to wall 19, and wherein flaps 21 and 22 are connected by two triangular panels 25, 27, one each side of fold 1Oc 11c the continuation of fold 10b between walls, and wherein flaps 22 and 23 are connected by one triangular panel 31. Closure is effected by folding as shown (Fig. 4), applying two parallel stripes of adhesive 34, 35 and 36, then folding panel 27 about fold 28 to lie on flap 22 where it is adhered by strips 35, 36 now parallel to fold 15b, when flap 21 follows over to lie on flap 23 where it is adhered by stripe 34, panels 25 then forming part of the rectangular flap containing flap 21. |
