[Also in Division F2] In a horizontally sliding door, window or other panel with a horizontally extending edge 50 or 52. The aluminium or wood sash horizontal frame members 50 and 53 are provided with elongate permanent strip magnets 51, 56, 57 operatively secured thereto and the frame members 40, 42, 43, disposed vertically below the sash members are provided with elongate permanent strip magnets 41, 54, 55, the poles of the magnets extending longitudinally of the strips and being such that the oppositely disposed poles provide a lifting action on the sash. Fig. 7 shows a hanger type of assembly at the top and a runner at the bottom, like magnetic poles being adjacent on the relatively moving parts and Fig. 8 shows an upper sliding bearing with unlike poles adjacent on the relatively moving parts. 'The magnets consist of e.g. barrium ferrite in tubular elastomer strips. Sealing strips 58, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63 are provided as shown. |
