[Also in Division G4] A temperature monitoring system comprises an elbow fitting 30 with longitudinal and transverse bores connected to a lubricant circuit and with a socket to receive a thermostat unit 42 which is connected to an alarm device. In Fig. 5 a socket element 38 has an extension 41 forming an annular passage with arm 35 in order to reclassify lubricant mist passing through the fitting from supply conduit 24. Heat from the lubricant mist passes through extension 41 to the unit. The unit 42 comprises a bimetal strip 49, Fig. 6, and adjustable contact 55 which are closed under normal conditions and open when the lubricant mist exceeds a given value. The unit 42 is connected into an electric alarm circuit (Fig. 7, not shown) (see Division G4) with warning lights. |
