A succession of warp knitted leotards, tights or panty hose are knitted on a warp knitting machine such as described in Specification 1,219,790 by knitting a tubular body portion B1 followed by a pair of tubular portions L-1, L-1' suitable for the legs and seamlessly joined to the body portion. The body and leg portions are knitted continuously as illustrated in Fig. 1 and the fabric subsequently divided along the lines C-O1, C-12, C-23, C-34, C-45 to provide the individual garments. The fabric may be of openwork or fishnet construction having laid in warp or weft yarns to superimpose a point or fill-in pattern Figs. 9, 11, 12, not shown. |
